Multipliers?

Post by fishdorset on Tue May 05, 2009 9:44 am

Just started to change over to using a multiplier last year, still getting used to it this year.
Do I have to change my casting style?
I'm still an overhead thumper, but trying to start a pendulum.
Are there any good vids to watch online?

plenty of vids on youtube. As I'm sure Colin will confirm, you really need to master the OFG cast first before moving to the pendulum as that is the style of the actual casting stage. We will be having a casting tuition session sometime in late summer/early autumn.

Hi Loads of info on the internet but not sure you can see all the action as some of the angles are wrong!!

If you start to overhead thump with a multiplyer it will not handle the sudden imput of power and will birdie.

You need to start as richard says with OTG, as pendulum is the OTG cast with a swing so you learn it in two bits, OTG first and then the swing added to it as some of the guys will know.

If you can wait a couple of weeks I can meet you and anybody else for a fishing session on chesil once the waters have cleared and the smutts are about. The only cost will be a few crabs!!!!!

Cheers, your time would be appreciated.
I'm going out with $hockŁeader from the WSF site on Saturday morning for some instruction and hopefully put me on the right track!
I've been whacking out a lead my own way for years and it's about time I learn the correct way if I want to go further.
