Hello all,

I am a newby here so thought I'd drop a line and say hello.

I've been following the action at Chesil on other forums and then found this one!!

Anyway, I was wondering if someone could answer a couple of questions......

1. Do the tides matter? The reason I ask is that a lot of folks have mentioned heading to Chesil tomorrow and I see that its neap tides. Is it a place that fishes best on neaps?

2. Location location location........I have google earthed it ...

Hi all.

I;m planning to make the trip up from Plymouth on Saturday and having taken a look at the weather forecast it was giving 32kmh south westerly winds over the weekend .

I know it's only a forecast but when does Chesil, and Abbotsbury in particular, become uncomfortable to fish. Obviously at this time of year I'd like a bit of colour in the water, and the wind direction will give me this, but what sort of wind speed makes the place a bit dodgy

I don't want a wasted trip ...

standard. I have seen 1 mould that will only make 1 weight, and it was £17.50, so if you wanted to do 4,6 and 8oz it would cost you £52.50 for the 3 moulds.I will be saleing this mould for £22.50 plus p&p.

Do you think it really matters whereabouts on the beach you fish, in other words are there cod holding areas or is it more important to have the correct tackle/rigs, bait and casting ability.

Personally, I do have a couple of favourite marks where I would feel more confident but having said that I would be happy to fish anywhere and trust my tackle and bait.

I reckon that on this sort of Comp. you need ...
