Avatars & Names

Post by Drew on Fri Oct 30, 2009 6:16 pm

Hi all,

I like others have changed my avatar to show, what I consider to be my latest "Best Fish". Having said that the 2lb 8.5oz Red Gurnard is considered a far better conquest than the Turbot.

Whilst I think that our Avatars with our pictures are first class in the repect that it shows who we are, might I suggest that as we are a friendly and localised forum that we sign off our posts with our real name.

I personally cannot see any harm in this, the good thing is that it "Puts a name to a face".

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Regards

Drew

I must admit I dislike the names we give ourselves, but I guess some prefer the anonimity and maybe makes them feel more comfortable about posting. I think signing off with your real name is a nice touch, although it can become confusing when we refer to eachother by our real names in posts when our user names are different.

So if anyone would like there username changed to there real name they can let me know and I will make the changes.

Richard!

I like the idea!

Is there anyway that it could be added to the info below your avatar?
eg:

"Real name:"

Smile

Yep, can do that if you wish. Should be a profile option shortly if I can get it sorted.
