I want to go fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two weeks now I've not been able to go to the Chesil - when are these gales ever going to stop? So Im sat at home tying rigs which is something new for me! So guys (and girls) what would you recommend as the best rigs for me to tie to use on Chesil. If the wind subsides Im off to Barnstaple on Thursday after some flounders. Im still fishing with borrowed gear - I have a very generous neighbour who has leant me some good gear including yesterday a Conoflex lethal weapon and two ABU multipliers. I should now be easy to spot on the beach covered in birds nest yee ha. Off to the rugby pitch tomorrow to have a practice.

its weymouth beach but as you go towards bowleaze cove end thats preston were be fishing right in front of the sea life center

If your after the flounders a 3 hook flapping rig is the 1 i would suggest with size 2 long shank hooks (B940 / 3261BLN mustad).For chesil, cod rigs i use a 4/0 sakuma manta pennel and a 30lb snood around 4' long clipped down on an impact shield, for general scraching around id again go for a 3 hook rig either clipped for distance or flapping with the bottom hook below the lead (2 up 1 down), or for the really long chucks i go for a 2 hook loop rig with hooks between a 4 for dabs and bream to a 2/0 for the codling and dogs.

Im a bit concerned in these hurricanes I might really struggle! As soon as it calms down a bit I will come and see how it is really done. But thanks for the invite. I have some friends that fish in the estuary around Barnstaple and I thought that might be a bit more sheltered!! Hoping to give that a go Thursday.

I should'nt see why not mate, but theyre usually a long way out' small hooks (size 4 ) clip it and whack it

I cant wait for this weather to stop had a boat trip booked out of portsmouth today but too blowy! Have rebooked for december the 3rd hopefully will be ok then and the rough weather have brought the 30LB cod out haha! Also i would be tieing up lots of two hook loop rigs, to use with impact leads, good rig for the big disstant whiting and also codling (and probably DOGGIES )!

Just fished the Barnstaple estuary today! WOOOOOOOOO! Been a few months...
If you go down the Tarka Inn, you can find a nice little crevice (snigger) to hide in from the weather, but Bassett's Pit is apparently fishing well too (further round the river to the right of the pub). You definitely want maddies and bling!
