Fixed Spool Rod ???

Post by Dogfish on Mon Oct 19, 2009 4:40 pm

I am after a new Fixed spool rod for chesil fishing just wondered if anyone has any suggestions on what to go for, i have around 200 quid to spend, I have fished chesil for the last 3 years and not really bothered fishing any other beach, at the moment i have a supercast, a TDSS12FS and a 14' K2 team extreme all seem to work well on chesil even in the big tides the supercast can get a bit of a bend in it on the big tides but seems to be OK ...

I was thinking of a Anyfish anywhere 6+Bait 12' ???

I'm no fs expert but I'd say you've got some pretty good rods there already. Why not try getting one to match one of your existing rods. Having two of the same rods side by side makes bite detection much easier. I have a pair of tdss rods for multi and am just getting to grips with them as I normally fish with 13ft rods. Very nice casting rods when you get them loaded properly. If it was my choice I'd try and get a K2 to match the one you already have.

Dont know how much they are but the Fox Horizon is a handy tool

Its 16ft long and gives superb distance with simple overhead style casts

More than capable of fishing Chesil in all conditions , as used and developed by Chris Clark

Mate if you have that sort of money or possibly more think about getting one custom built, im a fixed spool man like you and there are very little super high quality fixed spool beach rods out there as everything is made for multiplyer. If you got one custom made you could choose everything to suit u?! Just an idea.
