Chesil Plaice Meet?

Post by Lockstock on Thu Feb 18, 2010 9:16 pm

In years gone bye we had a bit of fun fishing a 'friendly' comp at West Bex in March for the Plaice (not that we caught any) - Is there any mileage in trying to get a few people together a friendly meet this year! I'm not the best with Chesil tides etc but I'd certainly be up for an early spring get together! Might be too early for a BBQ!

Can someone suggest some dates with likely tides - I've not got a tide table for the south coast yet this year!

Nice idea. We can meet, even if we don't get to meet any plaice.

Depends if you want to fish a spring tide or neap as to dates. We've got our boat trip on 28th so that weekend is out. and I've got a blandford club one on the 13th so thats out for me. Weekends of the 6/7th and 20/21st are both neaps. Low tide on the 20th is at 2pm so that would be my choice.

Could meet up around mid day, get some rods out and get lunch going, then fish seriously from low till dusk?

Oh yeah, forgot about that one as well. Thats the problem with clubs, interfere with your fishing! What about the Sunday 21st then. I think i could swing it for an afternoon session. If the weather is fine I'll bring the kids as well (is that mothers day?)

What about Sunday 11th April.. Away from Mothers day and Easter and most club meets??

Cogden would be my preferred venue!

I'm away from next tuesday until mid march, like andy said the 20th is out so looks like the 10April would be the first date free. I could supply some cideras it's the day after my b'day... Party time

I,ll likely be around either the end of March or early April. I can probably sort out some parking if people can share car's. It's the just a gentle stroll along the coast path to Cogden. Just need date's. Never have a problem with break in's here.
