Can't see any reason why not Dizz.

The records as I understand them are for current members using the forum.

Eh - you're all having a laugh. Lucys cod is, was, and forever shall be, the Forum record - until someone catches a bigger one.

Just because she is no longer a member doesn't matter a jot..she was when she caught it!!!

If Kep was to leave the forum would we drop the stingray record to the next biggest one..or would we be content to have the British record as one of our past or present members best fish??

What if someone catches a twenty pound bass off Chesil and then dies..would we take his or her record away???

Re: boat cod record

Post by Weaver on Mon Jul 05, 2010 1:51 pm

Its a good point in many ways and I'm divided on how to play it. On one hand I feel that if a member decides that they no longer wish to be in the forum for whatever reason, then it makes sense that they also do not want there catches recognised. A member dying isn't a choice to leave the forum, well it's a severe way of leaving anyway. I think that I'm coming down on the view that if a member deletes there account they are saying they don't want any involvement, and this should include being included in forum records.

As always I'm open to other views on this.

Im with you Rich, as you say if they delete there account then they dont want any involvment so i think they take the record with them.

If they have chosen to remove themselves or have been removed from the forum then it makes sense that their record goes with them. They have chosen to not contribute any more so why should they hold a record on a forum they aren't even a member of ? simples

I sort of agree Rich (and sorry Dizzy, my post was in no way intended as an attack on you cos I half think you're right!!)

So, if Lucy rejoins, would she get the record back?? scratch

I think that is the only fair way to do it for the current members who take the time to post and help on the forum.
Minefield I know, but we are talking about members who take the time to participtate in the forum.
As Rich has said, exceptions can't change if someone dies!
