please help me! where on chesil?

Post by Guest on Sat Jul 24, 2010 1:16 pm

me and some friends are heading to chesil beach from essex and i have only fished there once, at portland near the wreck, a good nights fishing! can anyone advise me of a paticular area on chesil beach where it is fishing well at the moment. any help will be greatly appreciated. distance isn't a problem we are willing to find the fish!

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Yep, seems the fishing explosion is happening. The wreck is a good option if you can get on it and there should be bream about. I had better bream on fresh mackerel strips the other night with worms picking the smaller ones. Squid didn't seem to do much. Night time is a plague of dogs and pout so you may have trouble finding a hound.

sounds a better variety than the thames or north sea offers! cheers for quick response. i would like to fish anywhere there is more chance of catching. i am taking a few new anglers so for them to catch will be nice but half descent size even better.

Have to be aware that the wreck is quite small and if there are lots of you some may miss out. There are a few gurnard about as well, so could try bumping some bait feathers along the sea bed.

You could always try the dragons teeth at abbotsbury, plenty of room if there is a few of you and a good chance of some good fish too.

Id phone weymouth angling on 01305 777771 for bait and to find the teeth park at abbotsbury beach and walk left till you get to the concrete blocks ontop of the beach, the short cut is to walk through the rred just walk upto them and its the path on the right it start abit windy but it cuts about 30 mins off the walk on the shingle.

The lane is Bullers way, from weymouth go through abbotsbury and you come to a sharp right hand bend where you take a left turn which is really straight on (if that makes sense) it is sign posted subtropical gardens,if you go through abbotsbury and find yourself driving up a steep hill you've missed it, have a good sesh
