anyone no any good ray spots around the southwest area ?
looking to do abit of ray fishing where is best around the southwest?

It depends on where your based... theres loads between portland and bristol...

based in exeter , we have been fishing up around clevedon and sand point but no joy ..have had some wicked sessions up the channel but more blank sessions i had a 5lb bass off of ladye bay a few mths ago but aiam after catching a ray but still no joy at min:(

Well id try round the western end of chesil and charmouth area. if you put your trip in the buddy list im sure some of the members would join you to help you with your quest.

I live in weston super mare and I can tell you the only place I have thornies on a regular basis is on sand point and most of them double figure fish. If you want to come up this area any time call me and I will take you to the hot spot, but as you know there is never a guarantee.

Depends on how good a caster you are... If you're good for a consistent over a 100m with bait then Ringstead Bay and Worbarrow Bay regularly turn up Thornbacks and Undulates.

brean down mate u get um in numbers up there but the biggest ive had is 9lb

Sand Point! biggest there 18lb. Brean Down is ok if you are an ex soldier used to tabbing up steep hills and 999 steps.

har har yer that was dead easy compared to where me and the lad go, talk about fishing on the edge we found an old mountain goat that had died of exaustion on our last trek, lol.

thanks lads i might take you up on that bodge if you can message me your number i will take a trip up there within the next couple of weeks ....we went up for a session the other day with sand eel and squid but never had any joy we took the long walk out to the point and stared fishing to the right which we hard as it was low water and the tide was on the turn so we went over to the left side and fished in the bay we wanted to get there in day light to see wat the ground was like at the mark haven never fished there before so if you fancy it ..we will get the bait myfriend in return of you helping us out with how to fish the mark:) we were useing pulley rigs with size 2 hooks wat bait would be best for us to bring tight lines buddy andy

Basshuntersouthwest, now that`s a mouth full, Bodge is your man . knows the place like the back of his hand and isn`t frightened to share it, salt of the earth guy and a serious fishing buddy and friend.. I`ll say no more as his head will get to big
