Mag conversion!
Mindfield I know.
Looking at the field casting, I am going to keep my 7HT just for casting.
Is it worth doing the mag conversion or just leave it alone?

Yeh, it'll pay for itself on saved line from all the birdies I get and I rarely have need for the ratchet. At the moment I have to rely on tweaking the spindle tension, which isn't ideal.

Re: Mag conversion!
You could say that Shane! lol
Really enjoyed yesterday, its a strange feeling casting on on grass but an enjoyable one. Ultimate goal obviously is to be able to get further, being a tool to reach fish that are further out.
Had a whole days sport though, & no bait to put back in the fridge!

Re: Mag conversion!
mags can make a whole big difference, although thats not to say a well set blocked real cannot perform jst as well, i think it boils down to the fact you can set a magged reel from safe as houses to jst on the edge with the simple turn of a little knob! alot quicker and a whole lot less fuss.....
Personally, i'd mag it!!!

Re: Mag conversion!
Just got a mag conversion for my Abu 6500 High Speed Mag. I got the bigger mags as I want to use it for fishing, but can still use for casting, and didn't like the slidy mags. Fits in the centre hole where the end cap goes so no drilling and fitted and working in 5 mins. £22.00 and came next day delivery.
