Catch and Cook - Chesil fish and cook?

Post by Fraser on Wed Oct 06, 2010 6:25 pm

Hi all, any one fancy an afternoon session and cooking up some of the catch at sunset, I am happy to run through the fish prep and then cook up a feast on the beach, I was thinking Cogden would be a good venue? You'll be in safe hands, Im a chef!

Have to catch some fish first, but I like the idea. When did you have in mind?

Sounds a great idea, i'd be interested. Hope you have some good ideas on what to do with Dogfish as that's all i can catch at the moment!

Please no. Surely we can catch something edible!

Possible dates

Post by Fraser on Thu Oct 07, 2010 2:13 pm

I'm free most week days but guessing most are not, so what about the Saturday 23rd or Sunday 24th this month ?

After lunch time till late fishing, with a spot of tea before sunset (if the suns out) I was thinking maybe a Paella type dish, that way what ever we catch will go well in it. A splash of wine and the right blend of herbs and spices, it always tastes good! I have some big pans that will cope with 10/12 portions easy.

Lot of east in the wind this week, of up chesil cove later for a bit of shelter and hopefully a mixed bag! Question

Mmmm paella, lovely. If you don't catch much you can always chuck your squid bait in it. Don't think I can make that weekend, but don't let that stop everyone. If you want a lump of pollack to add I've plenty in the freezer.

Unfortunately Im just back off holiday and have a club match on the saturday so wont be able to push my luck. The idea sounds great, could you do it in an evening as the lads in the club would be up for it. I'll supply your bait and the wine.
