Dorchester casting
for all those interested Weymouth casting will be next sunday. the winds forcast at the moment will make chesil very difficult, or worse, so a day to hone up those casting skills and watch Tom (you did say last month that you would have a go this month). should be the chance to watch some of the England world championships winning team casting as well.
should be the same field or the one next to it.

Re: Dorchester casting
WE ARE IN A DIFFERENT FIELD THIS TIME
To get there leave the A35 Dorchester bypass at theA354 roundabout by the football ground and go towards the town centre. Straight over the mini roundabout by Tesco and after 200m turn left into Maiden Castle Road. Go down this road for about a mile until you are in the countryside and at the first crossroads (where a farm track crosses the carriageway) turn left. Go to the end of this track and we should be in the field on the left. The field only suits an East/West wind, however this is the only field available at the moment, hopefully there will not be too much of a sidewind.
THIS WAS E-MAILED TO ME EARLIER FROM JOHN. NNW WIND FORECAST WHICH WILL BE CROSS COURT, WILL WAIT TO SEE IF THIS CHANGES NEARER THE TIME BUT IF IT STAYS IN THIS DIRECTION IT WONT BE WORTH TRAVELING FOR A CROSS COURT WIND.
GO FISHING INSTEAD

Re: Dorchester casting
change of field for sunday to allow for wind direction. here is message from organiser:
Owing tho the forecast wind direction I have negotiated with the farmer over a more favourable field, we are still in Maiden Castle Road but at the end adjacent to the Car Park. Yes we will be casting up hill but with the wind behind us.

Re: Dorchester casting
used to being behind Andy now, so its no longer a problem. i was only a few metres behind him, well 14 to be exact. so i'm getting closer.
he had 242m and i had 228m. not bad casting going uphill. the slopes prob took 20m off of cast at that distance.
