Animal-based work experience?
Hi all
Bit of a random one really, but here goes! I’m currently studying FdSc Applied Animal Management at Cannington centre (part of Bridgwater college).
This year I have got to find myself some work experience to accompany the ‘work based learning’ module that we complete. I have asked at places like Bristol Zoo and Longleat, and am currently waiting for some replies.
I was just wondering if anyone is involved in any part of the animal industry, and might be able to offer me some work experience? It could be that you work for a zoo, you own a pet shop, or are even involved with a fishery! Etc. Etc., I don’t know, I will consider anything, as long as I can tie it in with my course. I know it’s a long shot asking on here but I just thought someone might be able to help, or know someone who could help!!
I can of course provide more information like what experience I have, what my strengths are, and a CV if needed.
No worries if no one can help, hope there’s not a problem with posting this on here, if not then please feel free to remove this mods
Cheers all!
p.s. I live in Paulton, a small village near Radstock (near Bath), so the nearer to that the better! But can consider anything.

Have you tried Noah's Ark, Wraxall, North Somerset? They are a Farm type zoo.

Ask around the local farms and estates - they're always happy for an extra pair of (unpaid) hands
Re: Animal-based work experience?
Might be worth contacting Fawley Farms based in Andover. They have outdoor pig units all over Hampshire,Dorset and Wiltshire. I worked for them a few years ago and they were good employers. Peter Smale is the man to ask for.
