Pike Fishing 7-Feb

Post by mike-m on Tue Feb 08, 2011 10:13 am

Managed to get down to the Stour with Jimmy Fisher yesterday. I decided to try out my Bass spinning gear whilst James did some very fancy stuff with his fly rod. I caught a half decent Perch on a small buzzer lure - so avoided a blank - and had one pike on, but lost it. However, watching James fly fish for Pike was a real eye opener. During the day he must have had at least 8 fish on the line and landed 4 of them. All in all, a good day out.

Good going guys, a good haul of pike there wish i had as much luck on Sunday... i went up to Blenhim palace with my brother and blanked Sad Huge lake though not sure how many acres but there was about 50 cormorants there, so no wonder we blanked Smile

The stour is a great pike river, i've got a stretch on my club ticket at wimborne, reminds me i should try and give it a go before the end of the season.

Thanks for the report and well done again
