River Avon 11/5

Post by joe on Thu May 12, 2011 12:00 pm

Headed up to the Avon after work last night, for a couple of hours trout fishing, got there about 7pm and left by 8pm it was in a very sorry state Sad coloured, no weed no fly life and most importantly.... no fish!!! Cut my losses and headed for the Nadder on my way home for the last bit of light. It was like another world over there, full of life, a few Mayfly coming off and a fair few fish rising. I managed to rise a couple of trout but bloody missed them before dark, it was my first session of the season so still a bit rusty Smile nice to see that some of the rivers are still looking quite good Smile

Unlucky mate. Never tried fly fishing myself, still learning the less specialist types of fishing, Haha! Well done for getting out.

Actually i've still not blanked on the beach this year unlike some....... Well i've gone and said it now thats a blank for me next time Laughing

The rain didn't have much effect Ryan apart from colouring up the water. It's been so dry for so long now that it's almost too late for the rain to do anything, what we need is a good bit of weed growth this will push the levels up.
