Best advice for spinning
I did a bit of spinning down Bexy the other weekend with a dexter wedge . also would be better to spin away from the makkie bashers away from the car park which sides are better to fish cogden or abbotsbury . also i found out on my last cast spinning with a quick change swivel link is a bad idea because i had a short range cast and watched it bounce away lol. i am really spinning for bass any tips for good spoons

Yes, don't use thoose cheap snap links. They are a great way of losing tackle! A fastlink or split ring is the best option.
As for types, you need to try and build a selection of lures. I use some of the heavier lead alloy ones. Quite cheap to buy, things like zills work well. Also get hold of some of the plugs if your rod is capable of casting them. I had my recent sea trout on a rapala xrap plug. It was only cast about 30yrds out!
If you are after bass stick pretty close to the macky bashers. Look at which way the tide is flowing. It tends to be east to west on the flood and the opposite on the ebb. As the macky bashers are cleaning there catches they will be chuckinh the guts and heads into the sea. The scent from all this chum will head down tide. You want to be fishing just uptide of this. The bass will be cruising uptide against the current following the scent trail. You want to be the first angler they encounter on there way in! Even fishing in amongst the macky bashers will work as the bass will be concentrated in this area.
I have had several bass about 10 to 20 yrds out doing this. If you're going to stay in one location its also worth dropping a mackerel fillet or head and guts on a running ledger a few yards out as well.
