out with my daughter tomorrow...

willow wanted to go fishing this week so i said i would take her. she is only 4 so when sea fishing we are limited to piers and with the weather like it is we have decided to go for some roach and chubb on the river tone! we just spent the last hour making up balls of groundbait. she has a new rod to use so is very excited!

think im going to take my pike rod aswell........ just in case:)

Hope you had a good one. Nothing beats taking the kids fishing. Sadly mine grew up and started doing the boy/girl thing but they will learn one day.

we had a good day.... missed the rain, and I finally managed to drag her away from the river after 6 more last casts at 3.30pm.

We fished for 5 hours which was about 4 hours longer than I thought she would want to do! got her a new rod yesterday which is a cheap 7ft feeder rod, and she even managed to cast it on her own. didnt catch anything over about 5oz but managed about 40 fish consisting of chubb, roach, and minnows which all kept her very happy.

I took my pike rod but sadly didnt get a bite. There was a lot of weed floating down and the level was about a foot higher than normal.

was the first time she has managed to catch a fish by baiting up, casting, hooking, and landing it, without me having to help so very impressed.

going to have a look in the loft, for my 6ft fly rod tomorrow. reckon I can get her fly fishing by the new year!
