Casting at Steyning

Post by Southside Stu on Sun Mar 25, 2012 8:27 pm

Well, what a difference to the last meet at Steyning! Last month was rained/snowed off after a couple of hours. Today was absolutely gorgeous, sun ,blue sky and I think everyone there got a bit of sunburn!. Shocked Anyway, the leads weren`t flying as they should of been, which kinda surprised a few. Steve Lewis hit a cast that everyone (himself included) thought would have been over 250m. As it was, it landed at 232m I ended the day on 186m. I was given a few pointers on my swing and feet positions which helped a lot. My first few casts were low and left, with a couple out of court! Embarassed After sorting my swing and feet positions, I had a more relaxed style, and my distances started to go up with very little effort. The old saying `timing and technique`was coming true! Now my casts were in the right hand court, with one at 185m, smack on the centre line Very Happy Now, its practice, practice and more practice......
