i have a cider in my hand as i type this.
you have one of my problems. as soon as the lead starts to swing back towards you, you are into the cast and turning and hitting it. i bet it feels really light because there is nothing to hit.
wait till the lead swings back past you, wait even longer to allow the lead to swing up and round and then turn and hit up.
it will be quite a shock because it will seem really heavy because you are compressing the rod and feeling the lead swinging on a wider arc.
thats enough for now.
keep your right arm straight and look up. pull in with the left hand.
now thats enough

Thanks brad.I know im turning too early but it feels like an age when your doing it and on film its over in a flash. ill also find a field with less grass as digging holes in this one was nt easy!!

Easy, get your ball drill a hole through the middle, take a piece of wire (i use galv fencing) thread on a swivel fold wire in half push through ball ,bend back round and twist round the top where the wire enters the hole clip to leader and bingo. or say john could i borrow yours?

i dont bother normally(if you explain your doing no dammage to crops or leaving anything bad for the animals there pretty cool, when you get caught) but i do know a few farmers ill have an ask about next time im over there.
