its not breaking strain as much as diameters, depenes on casting weight.
5oz is .31mm minimum

Seem to remember no red line allowed was said somewhere in the past ......not winding you up mate I'm sure that was the case.....low vis in the grass after a crack off apparently!!....sure that someone who knows the rules will put you in the know presently!!

Red line hasn't been stopped at dorchester as of yet, but some casting clubs don't allow it.

100gr(3oz) = 0.25mm
125gr(4oz) = 0.28mm
150gr(5oz) = 0.31mm
175gr(6oz) = 0.35mm

All to be of basic monofilament construction and hi viz, eg. Sakuma nite crystal or daiwa tournament.etc
