well it was great weather apart from the lack of wind, but a great turnout by forum members. 8 members casting today and 2 watching. CBF in the majority.

Re: Dorchy today
Anther great day out! Funny old game casting as I'm rapidly discovering, it litteraly is dependant on the way the wind is blowing! 2 good casts resulted in 2 PB's on the trott was it the wind or a thermal kicking up? But then it all went pear shapped and couldn't return to any form - Still it was good to have a "crack", even if a number of them were in the "Off" variety. Last cast resulted in the lead getting burried 20 yards ahead and the birdsnest from hell, which took 30 mins to pick out , time to go home. But then chugger, chugger, chugger - flat battery as numpty here left his lights on and key in ignition DOH! .
Thanks for help with this fellas and to the welsh chap who no doubt will remind me of his name but henceforth known as "WaterWilly"
Cheers for the tryout on your CME Arron, will hopefully be able to handle my own next month!
Oh and was cr*p at Bexi after!
Cheers

Re: Dorchy today
Good day out even if my casting was shocking - sneaked up to the one sixty marker and then progressively got worse!
How any one manages to nest up the line on a fixed spool is a mystery but i'm getting real good at it - managed it twice on Sunday!
Good chatting to the forum lads and it was a good craic despite me struggling like hell, nice to get talking to Chris from the posh end of Pilley - i never strayed down that far when i lived there. And many thanks to Tom for the lend of the bait elastic for which the crabs down at Portland were extremely thankful of - think i had more chance of seeing a fish up in Dorchy than at Portland sunday tbh.
Had a few chucks last night where i dropped down to a four oz and slowed the cast right down and the buggers were pinging out compared to what they were on sunday - bloody typical. Still i've a month to forget the basics and c**k up Dorchy again.
Highlight of the day had to be seeing BB almost put on his arse during a crack off - very disapointed in you lot laughing at him.

Re: Dorchy today
yeah arron wished i had had a go especially as it was fairly quiet,
but it has helped alot, over our field at work we have marked out, we are getting about 140 meters which is a vast improvement to last week.
and yes litchy its very addictive we have been casting every lunch time for about 3 weeks since our lesson with john.
