I believe so, although I don't think they check up on them. When I got my bass badge I had the fish weighed and witnessed down at westbay. They never came back asking for confirmation.

Re: Thin lipped mullet
right this is the last say im having regarding records as im getting a few members pm me and chatting to me saying that the record for whites mullett is wrong as everyones looked at the pics and can clearly see that the mullet on my box has got a big rounded belly and one on carrier bag of whites is flat stomach ( has it been gutted on beach) . also looking back throu deactivations white has made 6 posts the last 1 in begining of december so why after 5 months of no post why wasent he deactivated after my posts are over 5000, and just lastly great garfish there aswell but like the link im putting up a new club record garfish at 2lb 1oz look at the size of this fish to the one caught ( what scales were you using to weight the fish caught that day) . i know this prob cause bit striff but its just listening to other members and yes they have a point . link to garfish

Re: Thin lipped mullet
As you know, at present I only make deactivations for members who have never posted. We do not have a minimum number of posts per month rule.
The forum records is a bit of fun and MUST work on trust. If a member says they weighed a fish then that is the weight we use. I'm not prepared to have arguments over such a minor part of this forum.
As for the garfish, I'm not sure what you want me to do Mark. Do you have a weighed fish to enter as we only go by weight and not length or length conversions? At present James will be given the record for garfish and White the record for thin lipped mullet.

Re: Thin lipped mullet
There's no other option Mark. We could say only fished brought to me for weighing count, but I doubt anyone wants to go down that road. It can be so deceiving trying to judge weight by pictures. James said the fish was weighed by his dad and thats good enough for me.

Re: Thin lipped mullet
You can turn up if you like. Getting me to wake up is another matter! I'm sure you will do well tonight anyway. By the way, don't you think its looking like stinger weather?

Re: Thin lipped mullet
Yeh, just been looking at the tides for next week. Back into springs but with low tide around midday it will certainly mean the mud warms up for them.

"Go down that road."........Not really advisable as the turning circle is tight and the parking cr*p !!!!!!

Yes, and the neighbours would play up hell with a stream of cars getting stuck at the end at two in the morning!
